Two Boys Celebrate Second Place in the Mapleton Local Schools Junior Solar Car Sprint Competition for AEOP and the HSTW MMGW Rural STEM Collaborative

From The Daily Record, "ORANGE TOWNSHIP  Middle school students harnessed the sun's bright rays on Thursday morning to power their solar cars in a competition to see whose car would travel the fastest.

Mapleton Middle School hosted the fourth annual Rural STEM Collaborative's Army Education Outreach Program Junior Solar Sprint Car Competition. The competition used the same rules as the national Technology Student Association AEOP Junior Solar Sprint more.

Note: High Schools That Work NE Ohio Region, Battelle, and other partners support the Rural STEM Collaborative, many of which are also High Schools That Work and Making Middle Grades Work, to provide an opportunity for students and teachers in northeast Ohio to experience real-world, problem-based STEM education.
